pastured turkeys
We will not be raising turkeys for the 2011 season. Check back for updates.
We are raising Broad Breasted White Turkeys this year for your holiday celebrations. These turkeys are raised on organic pasture (as soon as they are old enough to be outside) and certified organic feed. They are given access to fresh grass daily. These are the industry standard breed but we will be growing them for a shorter amount of time to avoid the problems that they can develop once they reach certain weights. We re planning on our turkeys weighing around 15-20 pounds. Turkeys are carefully hand-processed without using bleach or any chemicals. They are bagged and can be frozen for up to 12 months.
Pastured turkeys boast the same nutritional superiority to confined, grain-fed turkeys as pastured chickens. They have higher levels of vitamins and important omega 3 fatty acids.
These are happy turkeys who do what turkeys are meant to do. They will provide a delicious and nutrient-dense center-piece for your holiday meals.
